Watership Down Stud and Kiltinan Castle Stud
Watership Down Stud and Kiltinan Castle Stud are recognised globally as two of Europe’s leading thoroughbred stud farms. Owned by Andrew and Madeleine Lloyd-Webber, and run by a highly professional and dedicated team, they are renowned for their success both on the racetrack and in the sales ring.
Watership Down Stud is part of the larger Sydmonton Court Estate on the edge of the beautiful south downs, close to Newbury in the county of Berkshire. Much of the stud has been grassland for centuries and boasts some of the finest grazing in the country. Kiltinan Castle Stud was purchased by Andrew and Madeleine in 1996. Described by Andrew as ‘one of the most staggeringly beautiful places in the world’ it is set at the foot of the Slievenamon Mountains in County Tipperary. The stud is adjacent to Coolmore Stud and is within easy reach of other leading studs in Ireland, making it the perfect location for mares visiting some of Europe’s top stallions in Ireland.
